Volunteering at Beech Street

If you are interested in giving up some of your time to help our school we might have a role for you. Firstly you will need to complete a Volunteer Application Form. Secondly, you will need to complete a DBS application form (this checks for a criminal record and suitability to work with children). In addition, we will ask for the name of two references who can vouch for your suitability to work in our school. 

 

Once this is complete, you will then need to read our safeguarding policies, attend the induction meeting with the Head or Deputy Headteacher and adhere to our School Values both in and out of school. It is vital that volunteers adhere to our strict confidentialy expectations when working in school.

Please note, we do not allow parents to work in the same class as their children.

 

Some roles for volunteers at Beech Street Primary:

  • Help to run and organise our school libraries
  • Listen to small groups and individual children read
  • Cut out and stick things in books
  • Help keep reading books organised
  • Help log on the computers
  • Tidy up the art resources
  • Work outside with the EYFS children
  • Help support at lunchtime
